If you have something nice to say about one of my poems, performances, other pieces of work, events, or interactions, I'd love to hear (or read) it! Please send via email, hit my DMs, text me, or scribble it on paper and hand directly to me. I won't use your name unless it's a sufficiently anonymous first name or you give me explicit permission.

Your poem “Instructions for the Breath” hit so deep for me. This year, I had to teach myself how to breathe again. I’ve been more furious than I can ever remember being, and I had to learn that breath is healing. And your words are medicine. I’ll remember to be the pool, not the dam, and it will help to heal. Thank you.

I read your script.
It’s absolutely stunning, and I don’t say that lightly or give effusive comments regularly. It’s truly beautiful in the vein of Sarah Ruhl, but I honestly haven’t ever read anything like it.
I’m really glad that you’re going to share it with the world, because everyone should see it. There were several times I stopped reading just to say “wow”.
It’s tender, gut wrenching, and deeply personal, with universal themes and elements.

Gripping from beginning to end; I hung on every word. Beautiful imagery and word choice. Cohesive, moving, brilliant.

On Native land

I live and work in Minneapolis (Bde Óta Othúŋwe), in Mni Sóta Makoce, traditional homelands of the Dakota and the Ojibwe, many of whom were displaced or killed through both casual and deliberate acts of genocide.

There are eleven federally recognized American Indian tribes with reservations throughout Minnesota, seven Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) and four Dakota (Sioux), but the Native population is everywhere around us, and recognition of their stewardship of these lands and the harms perpetrated on them in the past and present is a vital part of our responsibility as inhabitants of the land.
